Project Description

Muirhouse Youth Development Group

David Fox-Pitt and WildFox Events have been supporting a summer camp for the Muirhouse Youth Development Group for nearly a decade. Youth Groups come together to enjoy the freedom and fun activities facilitated by their leaders in association with WildFox Events.

Each July, Muirhouse Youth Development Group staff and young volunteers plan and deliver their flagship ‘Youth Work Games’ residential by the banks of Loch Tay on Kindrochit Farm. During the 3 day residential, around 150 individuals – including around 100 young people and 15 youth work organisations from across Scotland take part in multiple sporting and team building activities.

The Youth Work Games breaks down many barriers and promotes young people’s health and wellbeing. This is achieved by providing young people with the opportunity to have a break from their normal surroundings, get outdoors and meet new people from different backgrounds, work together as a team and take part in a range of activities in a competitive but safe and supportive youth friendly environment.

Testimonial

“David Fox-Pitt and Wildfox events are vital partners during all stages of our Youth Work Games residential. David has ensured that it is able go ahead each and every year and has supported us for the past 8 years. David secures the land required for the event, provides vital equipment and resources such as; fresh drinking water, tables, chairs and Malibu kayaks to name a few! Most of all, it is very clear that David is very passionate about the work we do at MYDG and is a huge advocate for youth work and related fields. Because of this, David provides a great deal of support with all his time and resources voluntary and free of charge. David also provides staff and young people from MYDG the opportunity to volunteer at Wildfox events Glencoe Marathon. This is something young people look forward to each year and gain so much experience and positive memories from!

We look forward to many more years working together! Thanks again!”
